The Accreditation & Compliance Coordinator role is a full time 2-year fixed term position

The Organisation

The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.
Our primary role is to be the ‘health voice’ for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.

Summary of the Role

The Accreditation and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the accreditation and compliance functions related to AHCSA’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO), ensuring that AHCSA’s training programs meet the highest standards of excellence.
This position coordinates the development and review of policies, procedures, processes, and systems that support the RTO in meeting accreditation requirements. This includes compliance with Australian Service Excellence Standards (ASES), Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), while also reflecting the unique nature of the organisation and its work. The Coordinator also supports working groups that address accreditation, policy, and compliance matters.

The Coordinator monitors and reports on the RTO’s compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, including those pertaining to the Board of Directors. This includes identifying risks and implementing effective risk management solutions tailored to the organisation’s needs.

Additionally, the Coordinator conducts periodic internal audits to monitor compliance and coordinates activities with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accreditation and compliance milestones are achieved.

Essential Experience

  • Experience in overseeing accreditation and compliance functions for a Registered Training Organisation.
  • Experience in risk management planning and maintaining risk registers.
  • Experience in the use of electronic systems for compliance and risk management.

Desirable Experience

  • Working closely with Boards and Senior Leadership teams within an organisation.
  • Experience working within the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector.
  • Degree, Diploma or Certificate (in an area relevant to the position) from a recognised tertiary
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment or equivalent.

Special Conditions

  • Out of normal hours work may be required.
  • Requires the ability to travel intra-state and interstate, including overnight absences.
  • National Police Certificate is required.
  • Working with Children Screening is required.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required.
