About the Role
We are seeking a Project Coordinator (Placements) to lead the delivery of a pilot program aimed at strengthening the capability of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aged care workforce. This role will coordinate observational placements for staff from First Nations aged care organisations at leading host sites, supporting knowledge exchange and culturally safe care models.
The incumbent will oversee the full lifecycle of placements-from planning to evaluation-while building strong relationships with industry partners and ensuring alignment with professional, legislative, and academic standards. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on aged care outcomes by supporting a confident, skilled, and culturally responsive workforce.
While this is not an Identified position, ARIIA is committed to achieving a diverse workforce and strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply for this role.
Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) continues to transform the way we care for Older Australians. Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Aged Care, ARIIA delivers activities across three workstreams to improve aged care for all Australians. Bringing together consumers, industry and researchers, ARIIA translates research into practice to modernise and pave the way for sector wide improvements, making a real and meaningful change to the aged care sector.
About You
You are an organised, culturally aware professional with experience in project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
In this role, you'll work closely with ARIIA, its First Nations Governance Group, and program participants to plan and manage a small number of aged care industry placements. This includes coordinating logistics such as scheduling, travel, accommodation, and backfill.
You'll build and maintain respectful partnerships with host organisations, supporting co-designed mentoring activities and ensuring culturally safe engagement throughout. You'll guide participants through their placement journey, facilitate knowledge-sharing, and contribute to reporting and evaluation.
Your ability to manage governance processes, support dissemination of insights, and help develop a Community of Practice will be key to the program's success and potential to scale.
Please note: Some out of hours work (including weekends) as well as interstate, and overseas travel, may be required.
