Position:
- Purchasing Officer.
- Position is based in the Port Hedland Workshop.
Roster:
- Local Full-Time weekday roster; or,
- FIFO 2/1 Roster.
Remuneration Additional:
- Accommodation Allowance (Local Employees).
- FIFO House Shared Accommodation & Travel/ Meal Allowance.
Key Responsibilities:
Work to achieve day-to-day efficient running of the store to supply parts to workshop and external sites/customers alongside fellow Purchasing Officer and Maintenance Team.
- Ensure the purchasing of materials, fixings, and fastenings and machine tooling to ensure the smooth progression of projects through the workshop.
- Build relationships with customers and potential/future customers (internal/external).
- Manage parts related emails, letters, packages and phone calls from suppliers and workshop.
- Organise parts needed to complete jobs in line with Finmec purchasing processes.
- Organise the collection of parts to continue with the job and keep maintenance team advised.
- Create parts quotes.
- Manage jobs in your workflow.
- Organise freight and transport in a most cost-effective manner.
- Keep track of returned parts and credit notes.
- Chase up any back orders.
- Ensure parts subject to credits and core charges are sent back in correct time frames.
- Search for parts breakdowns.
- Ensure all parts and inventory is billed out correctly.
- Complete accounts receivable invoicing approval for parts department and liaise with client over rejected invoices.
- Control oil consumption in workshop and ensuring reporting of reordering in a timely manner.
- Label and storage of parts and keeping track of parts handed out.
- Organise stocked parts and storage and complete stocktaking and checks of internal stocked parts.
- Organise, maintain and update inventory database.
- Monitor workshop tooling and ensure tooling is tested and tagged as per WHS requirements.
- Ensure a safe work environment is always maintained and maintain a strong safety culture in accordance with Finmec HSE policy and relevant safety laws.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required by Management.
