THE COMPANY
My client is a global manufacturer of sustainable building solutions, known for their high-quality plasterboard, metal framing systems, and interior linings. With a strong presence across Australia, they supply to major construction projects through a robust network of distributors and have built a reputation for reliability, technical expertise, and product innovation.
THE ROLE
As a Business Development Manager, your primary focus will be driving new business across the commercial construction space. You'll work directly with contractors and Tier 1 & 2 builders to secure specifications and quotes for projects, then hand those orders over to the distribution network to fulfil.
This is a relationship-driven role where your ability to connect with builders and contractors on-site will be key. You'll regularly visit job sites, develop strong networks in the building industry, and identify upcoming opportunities early in the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
Drive new business by targeting Tier 1 & 2 builders and contractors
Quote on projects and hand off orders to distributors for supply
Visit job sites and build strong on-site contractor relationships
Maintain and grow relationships with key distributors
Represent a trusted, high-quality product suite in the field
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Visiting construction sites to build relationships and identify new projects
Engaging directly with builders and contractors to quote and secure specs
Coordinating with distributors to ensure seamless project delivery
Staying across market activity and targeting new build opportunities
Using your industry knowledge and network to open new doors
ABOUT YOU
You’re a proactive, driven sales professional who thrives in the construction space. You understand how to build trust with contractors and work a project from quote to order. Ideally, you have experience selling plasterboard, metal framing, or similar building materials and have solid contacts in the Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder space.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in B2B construction sales
Background in selling to or working with builders and contractors
Strong network within the Melbourne construction industry
Experience with plasterboard, framing systems or similar products
Self-motivated, hunter mentality with excellent communication skills
SALARY & BENEFITS
BASE $100,000 - $120,000 | Super 11.5% | Car | Commissions
Represent high-quality plasterboard and metal framing trusted across major projects
