My client is an Australian owned company that has a passionate team of over 90 sustainability-focused professionals – including materials scientists, architectural consultants, experienced builders, and dedicated logistics experts. They offer recycled materials like reclaimed timber and low-carbon concrete, alongside sustainable timber and bio-based options. These products serve residential, commercial, infrastructure, and government projects aiming for greener construction across Australia.
The Role:
Reporting to the National Sales Manager your responsibilities will include:
Proactively identify and engage potential clients (developers, architects, engineers, contractors).
Deliver compelling presentations on our sustainable construction product benefits and environmental advantages.
Manage the full sales cycle, from initial lead generation through to contract closure.
Provide technical support and detailed product information to clients.
Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and generate leads.
Conduct proactive cold outreach (calls, emails) to identify new business opportunities.
Undertake regular client visits to build rapport and understand project requirements.
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of sustainable building practices and regulations.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities and client interactions within CRM systems.
Skills and Experience Needed:
Demonstrated success in business development or sales roles with a proven record of consistently hitting or exceeding sales KPIs.
Experience selling building materials or related products/services.
Familiarity with the construction industry and its key stakeholders.
Track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Experience presenting to diverse audiences.
Industry experience within the construction or building materials sector is not essential but would be a distinct advantage.
