About the Role

The Team Leader – Asset Protection & Construction Supervision ensures infrastructure works on the Mornington Peninsula are delivered in accordance with the relevant requirements and in consideration of community impact/amenity.

Reporting to the Manager – Projects & Engineering Services, the core responsibilities include providing strategic oversight and ensuring the performance of a multifaceted team to:

  • Provide a high quality, considered and responsive asset protection service,
  • Closely monitor the delivery of Council’s Capital Works Program to ensure works are fit for purpose and meet relevant requirements, and
  • Provide oversight of service authority works as well as private developments/subdivisions.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in civil construction and/or a civil engineering degree
  • Experience in delivering a statutory function and/or working within a regulatory environment
  • A proven ability to objectively assess a situation and make informed decisions in consideration of various aspects.
  • A proven ability to effectively lead teams and mentor/develop staff
  • Well-developed communication skills and high emotional intelligence.
