About the Role
Bambini Sunbury is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef/Cook to join our dedicated team on a casual contract. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating nutritious, delicious meals and fostering meaningful connections through shared mealtimes. You will also have opportunities to engage children in cooking and nutrition experiences that promote healthy habits and curiosity about food.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve nutritious, balanced meals and snacks in line with our seasonal menu and children’s dietary requirements.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen that meets Food Safety and Hygiene standards.

Cater for children with allergies and specific dietary needs, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.

Collaborate with educators to provide food-related learning experiences for children.

Manage stock control, ordering, and menu planning in line with centre budgets and sustainability practices.

Complete and maintain the centre’s Food Safety Program, ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards.

About You

A Certificate in hospitality or Certificate III in commercial cookery preferred but not essential (adequate experience will be considered).

Food Handlers certificate.

Food Safety Supervisor certificate (highly regarded, though not essential).

Have a strong knowledge of and experience in managing children's allergy & medical conditions.

Minimum 2-5 years' experience in managing children's allergy and medical conditions is essential.

Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks.

Knowledge & understanding with Food Act 1984 and Food Safety Programs.

Willingness to learn and be a part of the Bambini family.

Positive, reliable, loves working collaboratively.

Current Working with Children's Check.

Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Certificate.

Must hold valid Australian work rights or appropriate work visa.
