The Role
We are seeking a senior General Manager to bring strategic leadership and operational excellence to this dynamic concept, and lead it into an exciting new chapter.
Reporting directly to the Directors, the General Manager will lead a seasoned management team and oversee all facets of the operation: people leadership, service delivery, operations, financial performance, compliance, and strategic development.
The successful candidate will shepherd the venue through a busy summer period and drive our next phase of growth with strong leadership (not just management), entrepreneurial discipline and cultural alignment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide culture first leadership, mentoring, coaching and development of the venue team.
Drive exceptional guest experience through consistent service standards and attention to detail.
Ensure seamless operational management including rostering, systems implementation, cost control and back‑of‑house coordination.
Understand and own the P&L of the venue: manage labour, COGS, revenue targets, and financial KPIs aligned to group goals.
Maintain full compliance with award standards, house policies, Fair Work, NES and legislative obligations.
Act as the strategic lead for venue development, implementing initiatives to scale and evolve the business.
Essential Criteria
Prior experience as Venue Manager or General Manager in a high volume bar/restaurant environment.
Demonstrated facility with restaurant service systems, bar operations and floor leadership.
Emotionally intelligent leadership style; calm under pressure, natural mentor, culture builder.
Strong business acumen, with experience managing financials in hospitality.
Genuine interest in Australian produce, identity, sustainability and inclusive hospitality.
Ability to commence within 4 to 6 weeks.
Package & Benefits
Salary: $100,000 and above, dependent on experience.
Competitive tips package.
38 hours/week; overtime paid as Time‑in‑Lieu.
Flexible working model: 4 day working week, with weekends off.
