Casual medical receptionist required to cover intermittent staff absences for small specialist medical practice in RPAH Medical Centre, Newtown. I am looking for 1 or more people to call on now or in the future, to fill planned or unplanned absences, rather than to work regular hours. Previous medical receptionist experience is essential, and preference may be given to applicants with familiar with Genie / Magentus medical software.

We have two part-time doctors (only one present at any time), and one receptionist. You would be required to undertake all the administrative duties, which may include:

· Making and changing appointments

· Receiving payments and processing Medicare rebates

· Handling patients queries by phone and email
Processing faxes and email

· Collecting and posting mail, paper and electronic

· Managing appointments (checking SMS reminders)

· Minimal typing (emails etc, but not patient letters)

· Handling doctor requests, for example chasing results

· Scanning and filing

· Other duties as requested

This is a busy job, and the ideal applicant will be a quick learner, comfortable with multitasking, hard-working, attentive to detail, and flexible. Some training can be provided. Proximity to, or easy public transport access to, the RPAH access would be an advantage, as parking is expensive.
