Join City of Moreton Bay as a Library Officer, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
We’re currently recruiting for two Library Officer roles at our Woodford and Redcliffe branches. In these positions, you’ll play a key role in supporting branch operations and ensuring customers receive exceptional service experiences.
As a senior team member, you’ll also promote, prepare, and deliver engaging library programs and activities, while providing well-developed reference services and reader advisory support.
Woodford Library
- Open 6 days/week (closed on Sunday and public holidays)
- Operates on a 2-week rotating roster,
- Availability to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours
- Roster includes working 1 Saturday every 2 weeks
- Shifts between 8:00am to 5:00pm and may include late closing on Friday evening at 7:00pm.
Redcliffe Library
- Open 7 days/week (closed public holidays)
- Operates on a 4-week rotating roster,
- Availability to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours
- Roster includes working 1 weekend (Sat & Sun) every 4 weeks
- Shifts between 8:00am to 6:15pm and may include late closing on Friday evening at 8:15pm.
The Library Services team forms part of our Cultural Services Department, which aims to provide engaging leisure and learning experiences by connecting people to resources and each other. We strive for excellence when delivering exhibitions, information, collections, programs and spaces for our community and visitors.

About you
We are looking for team members who are passionate about providing an exceptional service to customers!
Bringing your experience in a library setting, you will be well adept at delivering quality collections, programs, reference and reader advisory services. You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to engage constructively and support customers to meet their needs.
As the library environment can be fast paced and heavily customer focused, you will be able to
- make decisions and manage your time effectively
- uphold professional conduct
- encourage a positive working environment
- easily navigate and use the wide range of online resources, social media and digital technologies such as tablets and eReader devices
You will hold a valid Qld Working with Children blue card or be eligible and willing to obtain prior to commencement.
