THE ROLE:

We’re hiring an Estimator & Purchasing Officer to own front-end quoting and procurement across bespoke refrigeration and stainless projects. You’ll work closely with our directors and design manager to build a robust price library and streamline purchasing from concept through to workshop and on-site delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Estimate refrigeration and metal‑fabrication projects: interpret drawings, specifications and scopes of work to prepare detailed bills of materials and labour estimates; consult with the director and design manager to clarify technical requirements; compile quotations and tender submissions that reflect accurate labour, materials, equipment costs.

Develop and maintain a price library: build a reference database for standard components (stainless‑steel assemblies, refrigeration units, electrical/mechanical components) using historical job data and supplier pricing; update pricing regularly and use it to speed up future estimates.

Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors: source and evaluate quotes for materials and services; negotiate terms and assess options for cost, quality and lead time; provide clear pricing and technical information to the team.

Coordinate and prepare handover documentation to production and service teams; track quoting pipeline and follow up with clients on submitted quotes.

Source and procure materials and equipment: identify and maintain relationships with suppliers of refrigeration equipment, stainless‑steel materials and consumables; negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules; raise purchase orders and manage procurement schedules to align with project timelines.

Track lead times and logistics: maintain register of supplier lead times and price variances; expedite critical orders; work closely with the production manager to plan deliveries and mitigate delays; ensure goods meet quality standards upon receipt.

Maintain procurement records and inventory: keep accurate records of purchase orders, supplier quotes, price comparisons and inventory; resolve discrepancies with suppliers & the financial team.

REQUIREMENTS:

3–5 years’ experience in estimating and/or purchasing (manufacturing, fabrication preferred).

Strong Microsoft Excel skills (advanced formulas, data analysis, pricing and cost tracking).

Ability to interpret technical drawings and complete accurate take-offs.

Solid understanding of purchasing processes, supplier coordination and price comparison.

Strong attention to detail, organisation and communication.

Proactive, solutions-focused mindset; strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Australian work rights and current driver’s licence.
