About the role
Are you passionate about green infrastructure and high-quality public spaces? We’re looking for a Development Parks and Reserves Officer to help ensure the future of the City's public open spaces meets the needs of our City and its residents.
The position reviews and authorises parks, natural environment reserves and landscaping content of subdivisional, development and building applications in consideration of the City’s Standards of Provision, Landscape and Tree Guidelines, and other Asset Management principles. It is responsible for ensuring assets handed over by developers meet the required standards, and ensure any rectifications required are completed. The Development Parks and Reserves Officer services a variety of stakeholders including community members, internal City staff, government agencies and developers. A high standard of verbal and written communication is required to communicate across a variety of mediums, including preparation of briefing presentations and reports to Council.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Town Planning, Horticulture, Arboriculture, Landscape Architecture, Geography, or related field
- Proven oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Ability to interpret landscaping and irrigation plans
- Experience in on-site evaluation of parks, landscaping and natural environment matters
- Experience reviewing urban water management
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

The salary for this position will be from $94,386 to $112,499 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
