Join the City of Wanneroo as a Technical Support Officer and be part of our dedicated Asset Planning team, helping shape the infrastructure that supports one of WA’s fastest-growing regions.

The Role

We are seeking a Technical Support Officer to assist the Asset Planning team undertake technical engineering planning activities. You will be responsible for providing technical engineering support service focussed on the City’s infrastructure network. You will prepare consultancy briefs, manage the consultancy, undertake site inspections and investigations, data collection and maintain relevant registers, databases and systems.

A challenging aspect of the role will be applying engineering skills in the work environment to assist our asset planners, procuring consultancy services, maintaining a consistent and methodical data collection process, and ensuring a high level of accuracy when undertaking data-entry.

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification currently being undertaken in a relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering is required.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
  • Experience in managing asset data using dedicated software or similar GIS applications is desirable.
  • Intermediate experience in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology.
  • Automatic (C-A class) Drivers License.
  • Intermediate computing, numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Intermediate keyboard / data entry skills.
  • Intermediate organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Intermediate communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Foundational customer service skills. Foundational research and analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace including hazard identification when undertaking site visits.

Genuine Flexibility

  • Choose between a 9-day fortnight, 19 day month or flexi time arrangement
  • This is a full-time role (76 hours per fortnight) with stable days and hours
  • Start and finish times can be adjusted within a 7am–7pm span depending on your preferences and team needs
  • Hybrid work may be available depending on the service unit needs
