Venue Manager – Sunshine City Club

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Venue Manager to join our team at Sunshine City Club. Established in 1956, our small but busy venue offers a friendly community atmosphere with a bar, bistro, bowls green, live entertainment, pokies, TAB, and function spaces.

About the Role

As Venue Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the club, leading our team, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our members and guests. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys variety, people, and community.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily venue operations (bar, gaming, kitchen, bowls, events).

Ensure compliance with liquor and gaming regulations.

Manage rosters, supervise staff, and support training/development.

Handle cash balancing, banking, and reporting using Xero.

Maintain stock control and supplier relationships.

Promote events, functions, and community activities.

Liaise with the Board and report on venue performance.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or club management.

Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.

Must be competent with Xero (payroll, invoices, reconciliations).

Experience with H&L POS system (preferred, training provided).

Good knowledge of liquor and gaming compliance.

Ability to multitask across bar, kitchen, and gaming operations.

Qualifications (Required)

Current RSA and RSG (Victoria).

Food Safety Supervisor (or willingness to obtain).

First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Approved Manager status (preferred, or ability to gain).
