The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Venue Manager to join our leadership team. This is a full-time salaried role, suited to a hospitality professional who thrives in a busy, community-driven environment and is looking to take the next step in their career.

As Assistant Venue Manager, you’ll work closely with the Venue Manager and ownership team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, deliver excellent customer experiences, and support the growth of our venue. You’ll be trusted to take charge when the Venue Manager is away, making this an ideal stepping stone toward a future Venue Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Venue Manager in the daily running of the venue across bar, dining, beer garden, and functions

Lead, train, and mentor FOH staff, fostering a positive and professional team culture

Manage opening and closing procedures with confidence and attention to detail

Oversee service delivery to maintain consistent guest satisfaction

Assist with rostering, labour management, and cost control

Contribute to stock management, supplier relationships, and ordering

Ensure compliance with RSA, licensing, and workplace safety requirements

Step up and take full responsibility for the venue in the Venue Manager’s absence

About You

Previous leadership experience in pubs, bars, or restaurants (Assistant Manager or Supervisor minimum)

Hands-on and confident in leading shifts during peak service

Strong customer focus and the ability to resolve issues professionally

Solid understanding of rostering, ordering, and cost control (preferred)

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Current RSA essential; First Aid and Food Safety Supervisor (advantageous)
