Title: Assistant Venue Manager
Location: Golden Fleece Hotel, South Melbourne
Employment Type: Full-time
Golden Fleece Hotel, an enchanting oasis in the heart of South Melbourne, where the spirit of Santorini comes to life! We're a Greek-inspired venue seeking a dedicated Assistant Venue Manager to oversee and enhance operations. Our two level venue offers restaurant service, functions and events. Key Responsibilities:
Foster fun, inclusivity, community, creativity and authenticity!
Maintain high levels of customer service. Monitor and report on customer experiences for continuous improvement
Train and develop staff by coordinating with external stakeholders for product & service training
Complete management checklists to ensure operational efficiency
Ensure food & beverage quality control measures are consistently upheld and work with the Head Chef on improvement action plans
Manage systems & manuals to standardize operations
Oversee venue maintenance management and budgeting
Report directly to Directors on venue performance
Maintain liquor licenses, planning permits, and all compliance documents
Oversee venue aesthetics and ensure an inviting atmosphere inspired by Greek hospitality
Maintain, update, and ensure compliance with cleaning, opening, and closing checklists
Supervise managers and supervisors to uphold responsibilities and measure performance
Conduct staff performance reviews and final weekly sales spreadsheet checks (wages, cash, invoices, and costs)
Develop strategies to maximize revenue, spend per head, and overall profitability
Generate sales leads and contribute to the sales system
Maintain strong communication with the kitchen and marketing departments
Take lead of Lightspeed and MeandU, including new item entry, menu design and reporting
Write rosters 2 weeks in advance, taking into account all requested leave, labor budgets and nightly bookings
Build rapport with suppliers
Ensure effective staff management, including recruitment, job postings, interviews, and selection
