Blackcat Fitzroy is looking for a passionate & experienced Venue Manager to lead and support our close knit team.

Catering for the local café and student crowd by day (we don't serve food) and the Fitzroy bar scene by night, while supporting the Melbourne DJ community and the local art scene, since 1982 we've been and continue to be an iconic Fitzroy institution.

Located in the heart of Fitzroy, we operate 7 days a week, 12pm until late (1am Licence)

You will be working and supervising a strong and very talented team, and work in close conjunction with management to guarantee the upward trajectory of Blackcat continues for many years to come.

The role:

• Close oversight and management of day to day venue operations, procedures, efficiencies and upkeep.

• Motivate and encourage the Blackcat team to ensure a high level of service is always delivered, and that our patrons have a warm and positive experience every time.

• Manage rostering, stock management, ordering, wage forecasts, comparative data analysis, new products and have a creative flair for constructive ideas.

• Staff management, training and performance oversight.

• Monitoring and managing Compliance expectations, as well as our Liquor Licencing and OH&S obligations

• An interest in Art and Music a bonus as we host rotating Art Exhibitions and book DJ's 5 nights a week.

You:

• Previous Experience in Hospitality Management, preferably in similar, bespoke venues.

• Understand the nuances and expectations of working in a late night venue on Brunswick St.

• A genuine passion for the Hospitality Industry, with great knowledge of beer, wine, spirits & cocktails.

• Ability to implement new ideas and suggestions based on said knowledge.

• Can offer genuine and exceptional customer service.
• Must be available to work late nights and weekends.
• Excellent all round communication skills.

• Top notch banter and a positive, friendly attitude.
• Full rights to live and work in Australia are essential
