About the Role

We’re a growing company in Mackay looking for an experienced Senior Accounts & Payroll Officer to take ownership of our finance operations. This is a trusted, hands-on role managing payroll, accounts, compliance, and banking.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring everything runs smoothly — from staff payroll through to BAS and invoicing. You’ll have full banking access and work directly with our leadership team.

What You’ll Do

TAX COMPLIANCE

Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, superannuation, and payroll tax

PAYROLL

Manage weekly payroll via Xero

Oversee leave, entitlements, final pays, child support, maternity leave, long service leave

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/RECIEVABLE

Complete weekly invoicing

Enter, reconcile, and pay monthly bills

Review contractors invoices

Manage payment collection and overdue accounts

Track and check contractor's payments

Manage Banking finance facility and ensure business day to day cashflow management

Work closely with leadership to support compliance and financial accuracy

Client account management

End of month balance reporting to leadership team

Auditing of accounts

About You

3+ years’ experience in accounts or payroll

Ability to complete a 40 hour work week.

Skilled in Xero and Employment Hero

Strong knowledge of BAS, IAS, superannuation, and payroll tax

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

High integrity – trusted with banking access

Confident working independently while supporting a team
