Accounts Officer

Full-time | Gold Coast | $80k–$90k + super

Sweep Marine is looking for a motivated and experienced Accounts Officer (Accountant or Bookkeeper) to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone with 3–4 years’ experience in a similar position who can hit the ground running and enjoys being part of a tight-knit, social workplace.

As a key member of the team, you’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end accounts, payroll, compliance, and reporting functions, while also providing support across HR and administration. With a team of 25 staff (13 in the office and 11 permanent subcontractors), this role offers plenty of variety and the chance to make a real impact.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Accounts payable and receivable, including reconciliations and debt collection
  
• End-to-end weekly payroll processing (STP, superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax)
  
• BAS, GST, month-end, and EOFY reporting
  
• Maintaining insurance, licences, and registrations
  
• Supporting audits with accurate financial records
  
• HR administration including onboarding and employee record management
  
• Assisting with IT troubleshooting and general office support
  

A Successful Candidate

• 3–4 years’ experience in an accounts officer, bookkeeper, or similar role
  
• Proficiency in accounting systems (Xero preferred) and Google Workspace
  
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and payroll experience
  
• Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality
  
• A genuine team player who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves
  
• Comfortable with computers and able to handle basic IT troubleshooting
  
• Someone who will thrive in a younger, dynamic team environment (most staff are late 20s–30s)
