We are seeking a compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our multidisciplinary specialist practice on a permanent part-time basis, working six days per fortnight.

As the first face our patients will see when they arrive, our ideal candidate will have compassion, a keen attention to detail ensuring the highest standard of care and service for patients attending our practice with a positive work ethic.

We are a busy specialist rooms at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital working very closely with both surgeons and anaesthetists in our rooms.

Key Responsibilities will be (But not limited to)

· Meeting and greeting patients in a warm and friendly manner

· Answering incoming phone calls and responding to queries

· Making patient appointments and maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic records

· Liaising with hospitals, anaesthetists and assisting surgeons for surgery bookings

· Preparing surgery paperwork for patients including estimates

· Invoicing daily consultations accurately and sending to Medicare

· Completing day to day tasks as asked by Practice Manager or Doctors

· Maintaining strict confidentiality

What we’re looking for

· 2 years medical experience (Specialist practice preferred)

· Knowledge of Medicare, DVA, Workcover and Private Health Fund Billing

· Previous experience in Shexie Medical Systems (training available if you dont have this)

· Strong multi-tasking and time management skills

· Exceptional level of customer service

· Keen attention to detail

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable engaging with patients of all ages and backgrounds.

Hours of Work and Renumeration

We are looking for a a permanent part-time (6 days a fortnight approx. 37 hours working Monday to Wednesday) to start immediately. The successful part-time candidate may be required to provide occasional extra coverage during staff leave, sick leave and busy times in the office.

Renumeration will be dependent on previous experience and qualifications in line with our relevant award, Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020. We are offering between $33 per hour and $36 per hour plus Superannuation for the right applicant.
