About the Role
Our busy Skin Cancer Hub in Woolloongabba, QLD is looking for a experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis. The position is ideal for a fast-paced multitasker. You'll be the first point of contact for our patients, so a friendly demeanour is a must.

Our beautifully appointed and modern clinic is growing, so it's a fantastic opportunity for an organised and patient-focused person to contribute to the smooth running of our specialised medical practice.

We need a reliable person available for 10-15 hours per week, with guaranteed shifts on Mondays and occasional Saturday mornings. We also need you to be a flexible team player who can provide backup coverage for staff leave, sick days or extra busy days.

What you will be doing:

Welcoming patients and managing the reception area in a friendly and professional manner

Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, both in-person and virtual

Preparing and maintaining accurate patient records and files

Handling phone and email inquiries, appointment bookings and general administrative tasks in a timely manner

Processing correct billing including Medicare and DVA claims

Ensuring all patients have their next booking made before leaving the practice

Ensuring all procedural patients have the correct post-care bookings made

Completing end of day in with excellent attention to detail, including processing Medicare claims

Liaising with medical staff and other healthcare professionals as needed

Ensuring the clinic is well presented, clean and tidy at all times

About You

You’ve worked in a busy medical practice and know what it takes to prioritise and finalise tasks each day.

You take great pleasure in assisting patients through from the first phone call to their first visit and creating long term relationships.

You enjoy working as part of a team who pride themselves on providing a professional, friendly, positive work environment for both patients and colleagues.

You have excellent attention to detail and are process oriented.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and empathetic approach

You are proficient in Best Practice Software and medical terminology

Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

You have a genuine interest in the healthcare industry and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care
