Casual with a view to Permanent Part-Time | 10-25 hours per week to start
Adelaide Hills O&G are seeking a friendly, organised and detail-orientated Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated and passionate team. Adelaide Hills O&G is a women focused, multi-disciplinary practice that provides personalised, expert and compassionate care to our patients. We are comprised of a collaborative team of OBGYNs, physiotherapists and other visiting specialists all of whom prioritise excellent care and outcomes to women of the Adelaide hills and surrounds.

We have rooms both in Mount Barker and Stirling.
About the role:
As a medical receptionist at Adelaide Hills O&G, you will be part of a supportive and compassionate team that values each other and our patient experience above all else.
You will be the first point of contact for many of our patients, visitors and external providers and your role is vital in creating a welcoming and supportive environment that promotes respect, empathy and compassionate care.
You will serve as a key link between patients and clinical staff, across all disciplines, helping to manage the flow of day-to-day administrative tasks, including managing appointment schedules, phone and email enquiries, account processing, data entry and medical record management.
You will be required to work across both our Mount Barker and Stirling practices.
Key Responsibilities:
· Greet patients in a warm and professional manner both in person and over the phone
· Process incoming and outgoing documentation with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
· Schedule, confirm and manage patient appointments efficiently
· Respond to inquiries and liaise with other healthcare professionals and support staff
· Process patient accounts including billing and claiming via Medicare Eclipse or Hicaps and handling cash and eftpos payments
· Contribute equitably to maintaining a clean and tidy workspace and waiting room, laundering of linen and instrument sterilisation
· Always maintain a high level of patient confidentiality
· Attend staff meetings as scheduled (generally bi-monthly)
What We’re Looking For:
Preferable.
· Experience in medical administration or customer service in a healthcare setting
· Familiarity of basic medical terminology
· Understanding of Medicare Benefits Schedule and claims processing
· Previous experience with Gentu practice software
· Previous experience with MAC Operating Systems
Essential.
· Availability across a 2 week rostered pay period which may include after hours and Saturday morning shifts
· Availability to cover staff leave over holiday periods
· Strong organisational skills with the ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to rapid clinical changes
· An excellent eye for detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records and documentation
· High-level written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to communicate effectively to a range of culturally diverse patients
· High-level ability to prioritise and problem solve
· General understanding of computer programs including basic operations of Microsoft Word and Excel
· Ability to follow administrative work-flow processes efficiently
· Willingness to participate in workplace activities including staff meetings, process evaluations and performance reviews
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an encouraging, inclusive and supportive team
· Current CPR certificate or willingness to participate in training
· A current DCSI working with children check.
