Practice Manager Position

Together Medical Family Practice is a GP clinic located in the city of Knox, featuring a vibrant team of four doctors and two nurses. Our centre is conveniently positioned next to a pharmacy within the Knoxfield strip mall.

We are seeking an experienced, professional, and enthusiastic practice manager to join our team. Our clinic prioritises a friendly, efficient, and productive environment, and requires a capable leader to oversee the following responsibilities:

Supervise reception staff, ensuring high standards in daily operations, including opening, closing, and maintaining the clinic premises.

Monitor and pursue accurate billing practice and resolve Medicare exceptions.

Be very knowledgeable with Medicare item numbers and how to optimise their integration to reflect work completed by medical staff.

Be proficient with patient-tracking software such as Pracsoft and PRODA

Manage staff rosters and coordinate doctor leave to always guarantee proper coverage, including accurate timesheets and payroll management.

Participate in recruiting and training new reception staff.

Prepare regular progress reports (monthlys) to track the clinic's financial performance.

Apply for all clinic incentive payments, such as WIPS and PIPS.

Accurately manage remittances from other sources such as TAC, Work Cover and Insurance firms. Also, ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.

Work closely with the bookkeeper, providing necessary documentation (for example, receipts required for BAS lodgement).

Conduct regular staff meetings and regularly evaluate reception staff performance.

Work with IT systems and assist with troubleshooting when necessary.

Ideally, have experience with successful Accreditation processes.

Applicants strictly require at least three years of experience specifically in the role of medical practice management. We currently require 3 days a week at full office hours.
