The Opportunity:
As the Sales Manager, you will be a pivotal leader within our organization, responsible for shaping and executing the sales strategy for your designated territory. This is a role for a strategic thinker and natural leader who thrives on developing customer relationships, motivating a team, and achieving ambitious sales targets. You will be the face of Ziehl-Abegg to our clients, from initial inquiry to long-term partnership. This is a full time permanent role.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Strategic Leadership & Management:
Develop and implement robust area sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
Provide clear leadership and direction to your team of sales and internal sales engineers, aligning their activities with overarching business goals.
Contribute to the recruitment, selection, and training of sales staff.
Work closely with national management to introduce new and existing products, expanding our market footprint.
Monitor competitor strategies and market trends to inform and refine your strategic plan.
Customer Engagement & Business Development:
Manage inbound sales inquiries, providing expert fan selections, quotations, and product support.
Plan and execute compelling technical product demonstrations and seminars for new and existing customers.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with a diverse customer base, understanding their objectives to position Ziehl-Abegg as their preferred supplier.
Promote our product range to consulting engineers through professional presentations and training.
Negotiate sales agreements in collaboration with the National Sales Manager.
Operational Excellence:
Take a leadership role in the effective use of our CRM system, ensuring customer files are meticulously maintained.
Provide timely and accurate sales forecasting (MRP’s) to the Administration Manager.
Deliver comprehensive monthly sales and business reports, including variance analysis against budget.
Manage your expenses responsibly and within agreed parameters.
Actively participate in and adhere to Ziehl-Abegg’s Integrated Management System.
What You'll Bring (Qualifications & Skills):
An accredited Degree or Diploma in an engineering field (preferably focusing on aerodynamics) OR a minimum of 10 years of experience in an associated industry.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in selling lift motors
A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in an Industrial Sales Management role.
A disciplined, sales-driven work ethic with exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
Expert product and industry knowledge, particularly within the air movement market.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
A positive, outgoing attitude with a continuous drive for personal and professional development.
