About Us
Afghan Women on the Move (AWOTM), established in 2018, is a dedicated charity based in Western Sydney that empowers Afghan and multicultural women in Australia. Our mission is to help these women find their voice, achieve independence, and thrive as active members of Australian society.
We offer a range of programs focused on women’s health, short term case management, life skills, job readiness, and advocacy for refugee and migrant women. Our goal is to support their healing from trauma while celebrating their unique contributions. In 2024, AWOTM proudly supported over 300 women through health and literacy initiatives and engaged in advocacy on national and international platforms.
As an independent, community-led organisation, there are no religious affiliations. We believe in the power of interdependence and collective strength, working in solidarity with women from all walks of life.
