Lead the frontline response to complex care.

At Magenta, we keep our people at the heart of all we do — that includes the people we support and the people who make it possible.

We are seeking an experienced and resilient Support Specialist – Complex Needs to join our leadership team. In this role, you’ll lead the coordination, safety, and quality of services for NDIS participants with complex disabilities, behaviours of concern, and high-risk support needs.

This is a high-impact role suited to someone with deep expertise in behaviour support, risk mitigation, and frontline leadership — someone who thrives under pressure and can confidently navigate challenging environments.

About the Role

As a Support Specialist – Complex Needs, you’ll take ownership of the care planning, risk assessment, and incident response for participants with high and complex needs. You will guide frontline teams, coordinate with clinicians and external providers, and ensure full compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, particularly in restrictive practices and incident management.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering intensive case management and proactive care coordination for participants with high-risk support needs.
  • Leading responses to high-risk incidents, including root cause analysis and behaviour escalation support.
  • Ensuring all restrictive practices are authorised, reviewed, and compliant with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.
  • Overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs).
  • Preparing detailed reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including statutory agencies.
  • Coaching and supervising support workers, including facilitating debriefs, training, and reflective practice sessions.
  • Liaising with legal guardians, clinicians, behaviour practitioners, and the NDIS Commission to ensure wrap-around supports are in place and effective.

This role requires confident leadership, exceptional documentation and analytical skills, and the ability to bring calm and clarity to complex situations.

You’ll Bring

  • Experience supporting people with complex disabilities, mental health diagnoses, or behaviours of concern.
  • Strong understanding of incident and risk management, including restrictive practices and NDIS compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through challenging or crisis situations with professionalism and compassion.
  • Demonstrated skill in coaching and developing frontline staff in complex care environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills — you’ll be a key liaison for families, clinicians, and external agencies.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Valid Working with Children Check (NSW).
  • National Police Check (issued within the last 12 months).
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Australian Driver Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance required).
  • COVID-19 vaccination

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Disability, or Behavioural Sciences.
  • Experience conducting investigations or internal audits in disability or human services.
  • Familiarity with PBSP development, FlowLogic, or other NDIS systems.

Why Magenta?

  • Be part of a values-led organisation committed to clarity, safety, and person-centred care.
  • Work alongside a passionate, multidisciplinary team that prioritises human dignity and real impact.
  • Access professional development pathways and expert-led training.
  • Lead care that truly makes a difference — the kind we’d want for our own loved ones.

Apply now and help shape the future of complex care with compassion, clarity, and confidence.
