We’re currently seeking a compassionate, skilled, and resilient Support Partner – Complex Needs to help deliver safe, person-centred, and trauma-informed support to NDIS participants with behavioural, psychosocial, and higher-risk support needs. These may include restrictive practices, complex mental health, or challenging behaviours requiring skilled implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs).
About the Role
As a Support Partner – Complex Needs, you’ll play a key operational role in coordinating and delivering high-quality support in line with NDIS Practice Standards, participant goals, and Magenta’s safety and quality framework.
Reporting to the Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing hands-on support to participants for at least 65% of your rostered hours, including during times of escalation or crisis.
- Maintaining stability through proactive rostering, ensuring skill-match and continuity of care.
- Supporting and mentoring frontline staff delivering complex care, including shift briefings, debriefs, and coaching.
- Assisting with transition planning and onboarding of high-risk participants.
- Monitoring changes in participant condition, escalating risk appropriately, and ensuring documentation meets restrictive practice and compliance obligations.
- Contributing to positive behaviour support implementation and risk mitigation strategies.

You’ll Bring
- Experience supporting people with disabilities and complex needs, including cognitive, psychosocial, and behavioural support.
- A strong understanding of human rights, behaviour support strategies, and trauma-informed practice.
- Confidence in managing risk and leading staff through change, stress, or crisis situations.
- A coaching mindset and ability to deliver clear, calm, and kind communication.
- A practical understanding of NDIS Practice Standards, restrictive practices, and duty of care obligations.
- Excellent organisation, time management, and documentation skills.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Valid Working with Children Check (NSW).
- National Police Check (issued within the last 12 months).
- First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Australian Driver Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance required).
- COVID-19 vaccination
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or similar.
- Experience with Positive Behaviour Support Plans and restrictive practice reporting.
- Familiarity with client and rostering systems (e.g. FlowLogic).
- Current MAPA/TACT/other behaviour support training highly regarded.
