The Role
The Town of Port Hedland is seeking a technically skilled and solutions-driven IT professional to join our team, reporting directly to the Principal IT Operations.
In this key role, you'll be responsible for overseeing critical IT functions, managing complex incidents, and driving continuous improvement across our systems and environments. You'll provide expert-level support to internal teams and Elected Members, ensuring reliable and efficient IT service delivery. Your work will span incident and change management, asset lifecycle coordination, and proactive system monitoring, with a strong focus on automation and innovation.
We're looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in Microsoft 365 and a broad range of IT hardware and software.
- Strong communication and customer service skills to support diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with excellent time management and problem-solving capabilities.
- A collaborative approach to working across teams and with external partners.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- 5+ years' experience in a similar IT role
- Strong Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, PowerPlatform experience.
- Solid Grasp of IT infrastructure & Service Desk Management
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class driver's license
- Rights to work in Australia
