- Base salary range: $116,262 – $127,078 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Education (PVCIE) is responsible for leading the University of Western Australia’s Indigenous Education Strategy which encompasses all areas of the University’s activities. The PVCIE provides strategic leadership of the School of Indigenous Studies and is responsible for the operations and strategic developments of the Berndt Museum, and the Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. Through these entities the office has responsibility to deliver multi-disciplinary teaching and research programs and provide specialised support and services to current and future Indigenous students.
About the opportunity
- Coordinate the development of policies, strategies, and initiatives to support Indigenous HDR and postgraduate pathways at UWA.
- Deliver training and guidance to HDR supervisors to foster culturally safe and supportive research environments.
- Build strong partnerships with Schools to enhance Indigenous student access, retention, and success in HDR programs.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree or Post Graduate Experience desirable.
- Strong understanding of the Australian Higher Education sector and the issues and challenges facing Indigenous HDR students.
- Proven ability to work effectively with Indigenous people, in particular with Indigenous HDR and postgraduate students.
- Sound knowledge of Indigenous research protocols and methodologies
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve and work productively as part of a team.
