Are you passionate about improving the quality of public service leadership? We’re seeking a dynamic consultant drive capability uplift across EL and SES cohorts within a large federal department. The right candidate will have worked in substantive public service roles for at least five years.

About the Role
This people-aligned role focuses on uplifting the capability of a large APS workforce (800+) to become better leaders and stewards of the public sector.

You will be responsible for:

• Quickly building an APS capability uplift plan.
• Gaining executive approval for the plan and driving its delivery.
• Facilitating workshops, coaching sessions, and learning experiences.
• Working closely with internal HR/People teams to embed capability uplift activities.
• Supporting structural improvement aligned with APS values and leadership principles.

This role is a key delivery position within a large federal government transformation initiative focused on improving delivery outcomes and cultural maturity across ICT and workforce functions.

What We’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from individuals who:

• Have at least 5 years of experience working in government, preferably in the APS. This means you have worked as a substantive public servant and understand how public administration works from having done the work yourself.
• Have strong HR, learning & development, or organisational design experience.
• Are confident engaging with Executive Level (EL) and SES staff in workshop and advisory formats.
• Are delivery-focused and comfortable operating in environments requiring fast turnaround and executive engagement.
• Can work in-person from a Canberra office and hold a current Baseline security clearance.
