Location: Canberra preferred | Hybrid (50% WFH)
Level: EL1 equivalent
Rate: $110/hour + GST | Long-term contract with extensions
Contract Term: Initial 6 months + 6-month extension option
Clearance: Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain Baseline clearance

Key Role Highlights
Strategic Leadership: Lead the refresh and implementation of enterprise cyber security strategy.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, update, and execute the organisation’s cyber strategy and delivery roadmap.
Provide expert guidance on cyber risk management, budgeting, prioritisation, and governance.
Represent the organisation at senior internal forums and external government working groups.
Oversee governance, reporting, and assurance functions for cyber programs aligned to ISM and Essential Eight.
Build productive relationships across internal technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.
About You
You are a senior cyber specialist or cyber leader ready to step into a pivotal leadership position within the federal government. You thrive in strategic roles where you can make a measurable impact on organisational cyber maturity.
Key Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years leading cyber security programs or strategy in large organisations.
Deep understanding of ISM, Essential Eight, and government cyber security frameworks.
Proven stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with executives and inter-agency forums.
Strong grasp of cyber governance, delivery assurance, and risk management practices.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SABSA) highly regarded.
Australian citizenship with Baseline clearance (or ability to obtain).
