The Opportunity
Use your UX design skills to improve how Australians access government services. We are hiring a Salesforce User Interface Designer to lead the design of accessible, user-focused digital platforms using Salesforce Public Sector Solutions.
Working within a high-impact delivery team, you’ll collaborate across product, architecture, and business functions to shape community portals and internal consoles. You’ll ensure designs are WCAG 2.0 compliant, meet the Service and Inclusion standards of the Digital Experience Policy, and support user adoption through thoughtful change design.
The role is being offered as a hybrid arrangement, typically 3 days in the office (Canberra based) and 2 days from home, to be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead collaborative design workshops and research sessions to uncover real user needs and behaviours
- Turn research insights into accessible, elegant design solutions that balance user needs and policy constraints
- Work closely with delivery teams to ensure your designs are implemented with fidelity and remain user-focused through each sprint
- Advocate for inclusive design across the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance doesn’t come at the cost of usability
- Prototype, test, and iterate rapidly using tools like Figma, Visio, or in-platform Salesforce components
Skills and Experience
- A strong foundation in user experience principles, with Salesforce User Experience Designer certification
- Practical experience designing for Salesforce Public Sector Solutions, including both portal and console interfaces
- Proficiency with Salesforce Lightning and OmniStudio to deliver accessible and intuitive digital experiences
- A deep understanding of WCAG 2.0 standards and experience applying accessibility best practices throughout the design process
- Ability to produce wireframes and mock-ups using Visio, Figma, or similar design tools
- Proven capability to design in alignment with the Service and Inclusion standards of the Federal Government Digital Experience Policy
Security Clearance
You must be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum NV1 clearance.
