To support this vision, Wollongong Golf Club is seeking a Sous Chef to join our fun and dynamic team! With our 1897 Garden Bar, overlooking our magnificent golfing greens, it is the perfect opportunity to join us and show off your culinary skills.
As our Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of our kitchen. You will work alongside kitchen staff, ensure high standards of food quality and presentation and contribute to the creation of innovative and delectable dishes. Your leadership and culinary expertise will be crucial in maintaining smooth operation of our kitchen and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
The role will consist of daily food preparation, service and also assisting senior chefs with a number of different types of functions.
The role:
We are seeking a Sous Chef who can hit the ground running!
Immediate start for the right applicant/s.
A sound understanding of WHS practices and principle directly relating to a kitchen environment.
Relevant trade qualifications pertaining to the role.
High volume catering experience with a commitment to exceptional customer service standards.
Have initiative and be willing to take responsibility.
Be able to lead and manage people.
A strong, hands-on approach with excellent time management skills.
Flexibility to work a rotating roster including nights, days & weekends & split shifts.
The Responsibilities:
Lead and manage from the front to deliver consistency in products and service.
Monitor the provision of efficient & effective service of all kitchen outlets to the required standard of presentation in line with expectations, budgets & Business Plan measures & targets.
Manage inventory and ordering of supplies, maintaining cost controls and minimising waste.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
Supervision of staff including training, coaching, performance feedback.
Implementation and ongoing maintenance of the club’s food safety program
Contributes ideas for long term planning, including the areas of promotions and marketing.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years' experience as Sous Chef or strong experience as a Chef de Partie ready to step up.
Proven experience as a Chef in a similar role within a high-volume, upscale kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices and kitchen management.
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
Creative flair and a passion for creating exceptional dishes and memorable dining experiences.
Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required.
