The South Coast Region extends 1,200 km from Denmark to the South Australian border and includes 14 national parks and 150 nature reserves covering 2.5 million hectares plus 7 million hectares of unallocated Crown land (UCL). National parks include Torndirrup, Porongurup, Stirling Range, Fitzgerald River, West Cape Howe, Gull Rock, Waychinicup, Stokes, Cape Le Grand, and Cape Arid.
The South Coast Region’s key service deliverables include nature conservation, parks and visitor services and fire management.
We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Officer to join our Esperance District team, to support managing the suite of parks and reserves in the Esperance district, including the iconic Cape Le Grand and Cape Arid national parks..
Under the direction of the District Parks and Visitor Services Coordinator, this position:
- Undertakes projects which assist with the implementation of the parks and visitor services output in the Esperance district.
- Assists with contract administration and management within the district.

Selection Criteria
- Experience in multiple project design and delivery including research of issues, development, management, implementation, and evaluation within agreed timeframes.
- Experience and knowledge of contract and financial management, including tender processes, contract administration, completion and review, budget preparation, expenditure monitoring and financial reporting.
- Evidence of good interpersonal and oral communication skills and experience in effective liaison with internal groups and external organizations, government agencies, community and special interest groups; and encouraging and managing public participation.
