Overall purpose of the program:
The Young Stroke Information Coordinator is part of the Stroke Programs, Research and Innovation (SPRI) division. SPRI is responsible for delivering Stroke Foundation's mission-related activities. This includes a range of programs and activities for survivors of stroke, family members and carers, health professionals and researchers.
This role is part of SPRI's Navigation and Access team, which enables all Australians to navigate the health and community service system, and to access the services and supports they need.
Overall purpose of position:
The Young Stroke Information Coordinator plans, designs, delivers, promotes and reviews information resources for survivors of stroke aged 18–65, their families and carers.
We are seeking a person with lived experience of stroke for this position.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan, design, deliver, promote and review information, with a focus on survivors of stroke aged 18–65, their families and carers.
- Deliver regular EnableMe and Young Stroke newsletters, and support the delivery of the SPRI newsletter.
- Ensure products, projects and programs are centred on lived experience, reach as many people as possible, and improve health equity for priority communities.
- Provide expert advice on the information needs and preferences of survivors of stroke aged 18–65, their families and carers.
- Support engagement of people with lived experience in planning, designing, delivering, promoting and reviewing information resources.
- Coordinate the delivery of information resources by people with lived experience, from identification and initial contact, through to completion.
- Connect people with lived experience with StrokeLine and other support services as needed.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support information resource delivery and the achievement of our vision and mission.
- Work with the Digital Services team to ensure information resources are delivered effectively, and with the Brand, Communications and Advocacy division to promote our resources.
- Promote and support the participation of survivors of stroke, families and carers, along with other stakeholders, across Stroke Foundation as a key part of achieving our mission.
Position requirements
Essential
- Lived experience of stroke.
Desirable
- Relevant post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree in health, management, information and web technology, communications, business or related area.
- Experience in planning, designing, delivering, promoting and reviewing health information.
- Experience in planning and supporting the engagement of people with lived experience in planning, designing and delivering information, from consultation to codesign.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate engagement, collaboration, teamwork and positive relationships.
- Time management, planning, prioritisation and organising skills.
- Ability to gather, analyse, communicate and use information and data.
- Ability to work collaboratively within and across internal teams.
- Highly organised, and able to problem solve and manage time effectively.
