Medical Receptionist

Merthyr 7 Day Medical Centre is a long-standing, doctor-owned practice located in the heart of Merthyr Village Shopping Centre. Serving the New Farm community since 1995, we pride ourselves on continuity of care, clinical excellence, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

We are currently seeking a Part-time Medical Receptionist to join our supportive and dedicated team for 3- 4 days per week. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment — ideal for someone who works well under pressure, enjoys patient interaction, and thrives in a collaborative setting.

The Role

The Receptionist:

Greets patients, answers the phones and manages patient enquiries

Books patient appointments and schedules resources such as Practice Nurses and the treatment room

Bills patients and processes Medicare claims

Administration tasks including mail, scanning, ordering of equipment and filing

General housekeeping and upkeep of reception area and 8 consulting rooms

You will need

Enthusiastic, warm and happy personality

Excellent communication skills and a desire to interact in a positive and pleasant manner with our patients, doctors, nurses and practice manager

Ability to juggle multiple tasks while still showing excellent attention to detail

Ability to learn quickly and adjust to a new environment

Computer skills including experience or Best Practice or a similar patient management system

Previous experience in Medical Reception highly regarded
