Your new role

As the Organisational Change & Communication Manager (EL1 equivalent), you'll be embedded in the Program Management Office, supporting a major transformation program with 35 projects across eight streams. The program was established to remediate and sustain critical property and ICT assets across the department. Due to the large scale and complex nature of the program, Change Management and Communication capability is critical to ensuring that projects and change initiatives meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee understanding, adoption and usage.

You'll lead change and communication strategies that drive adoption, engagement, and successful delivery of business outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing change management and communication strategies across projects and the program.
• Develop and implement change management plans tailored to each project.
• Create tools and processes that embed change management principles.
• Collaborate with PMO, Stream Leads, and Project Managers to support implementation.
• Provide expert advice and coaching on change activities.
• Represent the division in communication forums and networks
• Preparing high-quality reports on change and communication progress.

What you'll need to succeed

• Extensive experience in APS change management, communication roles and leading change initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes independently and in teams.
• Eligibility to obtain Baseline Security Clearance.
• Developing and implementing change management and communication plans across projects and the program.

Essential Criteria
1. Related Skills and Experience

• Have extensive operational and professional skills in communication roles in the APS
• Have training and/or experience in leading change management activities | 40% weighting

2. Communication and Engagement

• Highly effective negotiation and communication skills with the ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
• The ability to develop and sustain complex customer, business and stakeholder relationships | 30% weighting

3. Ways of Working

• A highly developed ability to manage multiple competing priorities to deliver quality outcomes.
• Self-motivation, drive and the ability to deliver outcomes, both independently and in a team environment | 30% weighting
