Contract Role | $90 – $120/hour plus super

The Opportunity
We're seeking a Communications and Change Consultant (5-7 years experience) to work in our consulting team, supporting an organisational reform initiative with our federal government client. This role sits within one of our active consulting projects and requires someone who can strike the right balance between initiative and adaptability. Responding to evolving priorities, engaging stakeholders effectively, and aligning to the direction of project leads and executives.
We are looking for someone who’s in the midst of their career, who is keen to grow and develop, contribute meaningfully and independently, but who works collaboratively and takes guidance well.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communication and engagement strategies aligned with reform project objectives.
• Support change impact assessments, stakeholder mapping, and implementation planning.
• Draft compelling and accessible internal communications across multiple formats.
• Coordinate and deliver internal stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, and briefings.
• Monitor and manage feedback channels to inform ongoing messaging and adaptation.
• Translate technical or IT-driven changes into plain English narratives suitable for a variety of audiences.
• Work closely with project managers, subject matter experts, and federal government stakeholders to ensure communications and change activities are well-integrated.

About You

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in internal communications and/or change management, preferably in the context of Australian Government reform or transformation programs.
• Demonstrated experience delivering communication and change activities. Even better if you have worked within IT or digital projects.
• Excellent writing skills with the ability to distil complexity into clarity.
• Adept at using digital collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams, SharePoint) and open to using AI-supported tools where relevant.
• Proactive, collaborative, and responsive. Comfortable being part of a client-facing consulting team.

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid role based in Canberra – 2 days per week in-office (Canberra City), 3 days WFH
• Contract hourly rate between $90 – $120 plus super, depending on experience
• Work within a 1 and One project team, supporting a key federal client
