Your Opportunity
As the Site Services Coordinator, you will:
- Co-ordinate site-based facilities management activities to provide a safe, effective and appropriate environment for all TQGC staff, students and visitors.
- Lead a team of site services general / maintenance staff working with a spirit of congeniality and teamwork.
- Ensure Maintenance support is provided to users within TAFE Queensland Gold Coast in line with agreed timelines and to an acceptable standard.
This position reports to the Site Services Operational Lead.
This is a newly created temporary, full-time opportunity, to 19 December 2025 with possible extension.
The position will be based primarily at Southport Campus, however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- weekly work schedules of site services general / maintenance staff
- progress of all maintenance work being undertaken
- any changes to the extent of work in progress, including cost analysis and expected completion timeframes.
- Plan, allocate and supervise the daily and weekly schedule of works for site services operational staff.
- Implement and co-ordinate TAFE Queensland Gold Coast preventative maintenance program.
- Maintain a register (Archibus) of all requests for maintenance and general assistance and continually update the progress of those requests
- Report to the Site Services Operational Lead on a regular basis:
- Carry out minor in-house repairs to technology, grounds, plant and equipment.
- Obtain quotes and purchase parts and consumables, when necessary, in line with policy and delegations.
- Manage TQGC Campus based Fleet car bookings
- Monitor site facilities to achieve effective and efficient safety management at the campus site including contractor inductions, site safety observations, implementation of corrective actions, fire detections and fire systems, Built Environment Materials Information Register (BEMIR), development and review of Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEAs), Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and other relevant safety documentation.
- Support effective and efficient management of goods receipt, handling and storage, including operation of equipment (forklifts, etc.) as required by demands on the site/s.
- Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills as demonstrated by effectiveness in supervising work groups in achieving goals and in contributing to the development of a service culture.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety issues and the ability to successfully manage safety in the workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively co-ordinate maintenance projects within desired timeframes in a large and complex organisation.
- Ability to carry out or organise general maintenance and repairs to a wide range of equipment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to customer service.
