3-4 days per week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with flexibility.

We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist/Secretary who will work in close collaboration with the practice nurse and the principal, ensuring the smooth administration of a surgical practice. Only EXPERIENCED applicants will be considered.

As a team member, the role will involve the efficient running of the practice, engaging in a courteous, prompt and professional way with patients, referrers and the practice principal.

Principal responsibilities include:

Booking new and review patient appointments

Booking surgical lists

Liaising with operating theatres and anaesthetist rooms

Reception duties for clinics

Billing and receipting patient accounts

Liaise with practice bookkeeper and practice typist

Liaising with suppliers

Answering telephone calls, dealing with e-mails (ensuring all urgent issues dealt with promptly)

Communicate with surgeon regarding relevant patient communications or matters

Use of medical practice software Gentu and Heidi

Able to work independently and within a team

Work location – onsite within the clinic
