We are looking for a motivated and reliable Accounts & Office Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an accounting student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in both finance and office operations within a professional supportive environment.

The Role

In this varied, entry-level position, you will provide day-to-day support across accounting and finance functions and office coordination including maintaining and organising our SharePoint intranet. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will gain exposure to financial processes, reporting, and corporate services—all while building your practical knowledge and contributing to a supportive, team-focused environment.

This is a part-time (4 days a week) office-based role in Melbourne CBD.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance Support

o Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing.

o Data entry and maintaining financial records.

o Reconcile invoices, receipts, and expense reports.

o Help complete monthly reconciliations (credit card, travel accounts).

o Assist with monitoring outstanding accounts.

o Help prepare financial reports and spreadsheets.

o Support payroll and timesheet administration.

o Help ensure compliance with finance policies and internal controls.

o Provide ad-hoc support to the finance or HR team as needed

Office & Administrative Support

o Assist in setting up and coordinating meeting rooms, catering, and events.

o Support staff in the use of new finance and operations processes and systems and participate in IT-related projects.

o Help maintain office supplies and amenities.

o Maintain office records and assist with audit/admin compliance.

o Manage and maintain SharePoint site structure and permissions.

o Upload and organise documents in SharePoint and shared drives.

o Provide basic troubleshooting support and digital workflow assistance.

o Provide ad hoc support to ensure smooth daily operations.

Skills & Experience

o Currently studying or recent graduate of Accounting, Commerce or a related degree.

o Previous experience in accounts payable/ accounts receivable is advantageous.

o Organised, detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy, and proactive in problem solving.

o Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

o A team player with strong communication skills and willingness to learn.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); any finance software knowledge is a plus.

o IT savvy and being able to manage SharePoint
