Are you a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-output environments? We're partnering exclusively with a well-established, high-volume food production business to find a driven and experienced Production Manager to lead their operations team.

This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing a large-scale production function, with responsibility for managing the full cycle – from planning and scheduling to execution, compliance, safety, and continuous improvement. While not a 24/5 operation, this role does require flexibility with early morning starts, depending on production schedules.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Production Operations

• Schedule and oversee the cleaning, filling, and emptying of production rooms to meet daily and weekly production targets
• Coordinate post-fill assessments to drive product quality
• Manage traffic, deliveries, and customer pickups for waste and materials
• Monitor plant and equipment readiness, cleanliness, and placement

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead and coach production staff including supervisors, cleaners, and operators
• Approve rosters and timesheets, ensuring correct resourcing
• Conduct onboarding, SOP training, and performance reviews
• Manage team discipline, training, and development

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure team adherence to WHS protocols and participate in safety leadership initiatives
• Conduct incident investigations, safety audits, and implement corrective actions
• Maintain accurate safety records, risk registers, and PPE protocols

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain strict quality and food safety standards
• Lead root cause investigations for non-conformances or rejections
• Monitor quality trends and identify process improvement opportunities
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards

Commercial & Strategic Involvement

• Manage daily expenses within budget and approve operational costs
• Participate in strategic and workforce planning
• Monitor KPIs and contribute to operational reviews and efficiency initiatives

About You:

• Proven experience in a Production Manager (or similar) role in food manufacturing, FMCG, agriculture, or logistics
• Demonstrated leadership experience across large teams in a high-volume environment
• Deep understanding of quality, safety, and compliance in production settings
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Experience with rostering, cost control, and performance monitoring
• High level of communication and ability to build strong team culture
