Administration Coordinator - Beechworth

Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship (ACRE)

Job description

Are you a detail-oriented and positive person with a knack for keeping things running smoothly?

As Administration Coordinator, you’ll be the backbone of ACRE and OBG’s daily operations, bringing expertise in general administration and basic accounting.

Enjoy benefits including flexible working arrangements, a rural location and a full-time position (35 hours per week) typically worked over 4 days.

About Us

The Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship (ACRE) is a dynamic and innovative organisation committed to making a positive impact in rural communities. Established in 2013, ACRE’s purpose is to drive the renewal of Australia’s rural communities so that future generations may thrive. We support young people, organisations, and communities to develop the mindset, skills, and networks needed to build an enterprising culture and a thriving economy.

Our headquarters are at the iconic Old Beechworth Gaol. OBG’s mission is to preserve its rich history while transforming it into a vibrant community precinct that delivers social, cultural, and economic benefits to the region.

About the Role

ACRE and OBG are looking for an enthusiastic Administration Coordinator to join our team! In this pivotal role, you'll ensure the seamless operation of our organisations by providing essential administrative and financial support. This role is perfect for someone with a positive attitude who enjoys variety and being part of the action. From managing day-to-day administration activities at OBG to handling invoicing and basic accounting tasks, your contributions will be vital to our success.

You will be based on-site at our headquarters at Old Beechworth Gaol, where you will work closely with our CEO, Chief Operating Officer, and all members of the ACRE and OBG team.

About You

You are an experienced and highly organised problem solver who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will have a strong professional work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and previous experience in administration or office management. You should be flexible and resilient in responding to changing priorities or unexpected demands, and possess a warm, approachable, and professional demeanour with the ability to build rapport with others. If you thrive in a dynamic role and maintain composure under pressure, we want to hear from you!

Knowledge and Experience

Minimum of 3–5 years in an administrative role within a professional setting, preferably supporting multiple teams or organisations.

Proven ability to manage competing priorities and workloads across different projects or entities.

Proficient in MS Office 365, including advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Familiarity with CRM systems for managing stakeholder relationships.

Working knowledge of Xero for basic accounting tasks.

Understanding of basic accounting principles to support financial processes.

Knowledge of office management, including scheduling, record-keeping, and correspondence management.

Awareness of workplace confidentiality and data protection protocols.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a social enterprise team that is making an impact in rural communities. If you enjoy being a key member of a team and take pride in making an impact behind the scenes, we want to hear from you!
