Antegra Leppington is a Lifestyle Community for the over 50’s comprising 225 homes plus a range of recreation facilities, including café, library, cinema, arts & craft studio, hobby workshop, gymnasium, 25 metre lap pool, 7 rink championship bowling green & pitch ‘n’ putt, set in 10.9 hectares (27 acres) of extensively landscaped grounds at Leppington in South-West Sydney.

Reporting to the Community Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for preparation, implementation and supervision of appropriate maintenance programs in respect of the facilities and dwelling sites. Operating in a highly autonomous environment, the successful applicant will be responsible for recruitment, training and supervision of a small in-house maintenance team, plus the engagement/management of specialist contractors and consultants, as and when required.

Qualifications – Experience - Knowledge

Minimum Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks and Gardens

Demonstrated experience in leading/managing a small team of 3 -4 gardeners

Strong planning and time - management skills

Experience/qualifications in building/landscaping a distinct advantage

Sound PC skills with familiarity of all facets of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Project (or similar)

Strong verbal & written communication skills with ability to engage constructively with all stakeholders – residents, management, other staff, contractors and community owners

Initiative, self-discipline (ability to work unsupervised), pride of workmanship/workplace

Previous experience in retirement/aged-care highly valued

Current references essential

Knowledge of:

Workplace Health & Safety (NSW SafeWork White Card preferred)

Safe handling/storage of chemicals/dangerous goods (Chemcert)

Building Industry/Property Management

Pool maintenance

Irrigation systems

Employment Conditions

Monday – Friday (38 hour week)

Above award wages (incl. superannuation) – package negotiable dependent on skills/experience

Four weeks paid annual leave per annum

Single site employment but with widely diversified tasks

High degree of autonomy leading a small team

Strong work/life balance

Flexible start date available

This is a hands-on role. You will be expected to spend significant time in the field as part of the maintenance team, leading by example.
