About the Role

The Woomargama Hotel is on the lookout for a hands-on, passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen. This is a full-time position based in Woomargama, NSW, perfect for someone who values fresh produce, honest food, and a strong sense of community.

We’re a country pub – locals are at the core of what we do. So, while we love creative input, we also know the value of a great schnitzel, a slow-cooked roast, and seasonal specials that keep people coming back.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver a seasonal, approachable menu that caters to local tastes and showcases regional produce

Take ownership of day-to-day kitchen operations: prep, service, ordering, rostering, and cleanliness

Lead and train a small, reliable kitchen team, creating a positive and productive environment

Maintain high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene

Work closely with venue management to ensure smooth, efficient service and good communication between kitchen and front-of-house

Keep food costs and wastage under control while delivering consistent quality

What We’re Looking For

At least 2 years' experience in a senior kitchen role, ideally in pubs or regional venues

Someone who enjoys creating hearty, honest food for a loyal customer base

Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team calmly under pressure

Strong understanding of cost control, food safety, and kitchen systems

A good sense of humour and genuine care for the community
