We’re expanding and looking for an experienced, values-aligned Head Chef to lead our production kitchen. This role is critical to maintaining our high standards of quality, food safety, and consistency as we grow. This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role where your passion for real food, people, and planet makes a direct impact every day.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager and Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, production flow, and team leadership in a fast-paced, health-focused environment.
This is not your typical hospitality role—there are no nights or weekends, and you'll be working with purpose, precision, and premium-quality ingredients.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee large-scale batch cooking, meal preparation, and production execution using equipment such as brat pans, combi ovens, and commercial-grade machinery
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of chefs, sous chefs, and production staff
Ensure precise recipe execution, consistency, and yield accuracy using spreadsheets and recipe management software
Champion food safety and support the rollout and maintenance of HACCP compliance across the kitchen
Manage inventory control, stock rotation, and production planning to minimise waste and maximise freshness
Uphold our kitchen’s high standards of cleanliness, allergen control, and sanitation
Manage kitchen certifications including, but not limited to; certified organic
About You
You’re more than a skilled chef—you’re a strong leader with a deep commitment to food integrity, team development, and sustainability.
What You Bring:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or senior leader in a high-volume production or commercial kitchen
Comfortable with batch cooking and complex recipe execution at scale
Strong understanding of HACCP, WHS, and food safety principles
Proficiency with recipe scaling, yield management, and basic Excel use
Exceptional leadership and communication skills to train, support, and inspire your team
A passion for organic food, plant-based nutrition, and sustainability-driven practices
