Full-Time Head Chef role with Sunday Mondays off

Suburban cafe located 30mins for Brisbane city and 30 mins from the Gold Coast

Rostered to work 39-40 hrs a week, no nights.

Happy to offer Tuesday ROD's once a month(for menu development + recruitment) Kitchen would need to be established and organised.

Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in busy cafe environment or venue similar.

Holds current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate(or willing to obtain)

Busy suburban community based venue going on 9 years, well known in Brisbane making Brisbane top 50 cafes

Head Chef role and responsibilities

Strong leadership, be able to build a loyal team, calm under pressure.

Clear communications/weekend handovers, operational and efficiency expectations within the team

Reliable and leads by example, humble leader

Manage COGS budgets, stock/portion control and stock rotation

Recruitment- assist in recruiting and training

Rostering not required at this stage but happy to handover if preferred

Up hold Food Safety standards and kitchen hygiene

Menu creating + costing, seasonal menus and weekly specials(we want to be known for our weekly specials)

Understanding of the cafe scene/culture

Creative + passion about seasonal fresh + yummy food- we believe this filters down to your team

As Head Chef, you'll lead the kitchen team in delivering consist beautifully plated food and efficient service. You'll take full control + ownership of the kitchen, build a your own team and work with the cafe owners to help shape seasonal menus inline with the cafes vision. We get excited over new dishes :)

Currently our kitchen team consist of a- Head Chef(this role) Sous chef, two qualified chef and one kitchen hand(that have been trained to cook)

Team of three during the week and a team of four on weekends. Lots of flexibility in the rosters to make changes as the head chef desires.
