ABOUT THE ROLE
Exciting full-time and/or part-time opportunities exist for passionate and skilled registered Proficient and/or Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioners to join our growing team.
DUTIES
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at HPC, you’ll:
Partner with NDIS participants and their networks to deliver tailored Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs)
Conduct risk and functional behaviour assessments
Promote evidence-informed, person-centred, and trauma-informed approaches
Contribute to the reduction of restrictive practices in line with NDIS requirements
Provide training, coaching, and support to informal and formal support teams
Support service development through quality improvement initiatives
Advanced practitioners will also:
Lead complex case reviews and interdisciplinary assessments
Provide supervision and mentorship to Core and Proficient practitioners
Contribute to clinical governance and peer supervision frameworks
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied health field (e.g., Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, Psychology).
- Registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner - Proficient Practitioner or above.
- High level understanding of person-centered practice and experience in positive behaviour support.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and their support networks.
- Experience in delivering training and support to individuals and groups.
Proven ability to develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans
Deep understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework and Restrictive Practices legislation and experience working with NDIS service providers.
Experience working with people with complex behaviours and disability
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
High proficiency in clinical documentation and data analysis
Evidence of a Suitability letter from NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission confirming Practitioner Identification Number
