Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Proficient Behaviour Support Practitioner registration (or higher) with a Practitioner ID issued by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
- Possess a relevant allied health tertiary degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy
- Demonstrate strong report-writing skills.
- Have proficiency in computer systems.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills.
- Have at least one year of experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with a willingness to continue learning.
- Be passionate about the industry.
- Be able to work independently, collaboratively in a team, and as a leader among stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop personalised Comprehensive and Interim Behaviour Support Plans.
- Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments.
- Utilize a variety of assessment tools to evaluate behaviour and gather relevant information.
- Collaborate with families and support networks to enhance participant outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards and regulations.
- Build strong rapport with participants and their families using effective interpersonal skills.
- Provide training and skill-building support for participants and their care teams.
- Implement data collection measures to monitor progress.
- Document and report the use of restrictive practices.
- Maintain accurate case notes.
