Sous Chef – Full Time – Viet Kitchen - Sale

Location: Sale, VIC 3850
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus super (commensurate with experience)
Position: Full-time, permanent

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations

Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard

Oversee food quality, presentation, and consistency

Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff

Ensure hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards are met

Assist with rostering, ordering, and inventory control

Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service

Contribute to seasonal menu changes and new dish creation

Skills & Experience

Certificate III and Cert IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) AND Diploma in Hospitality Management.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role

Strong leadership and communication skills

Experience with Vietnamese or Asian cuisine (preferred)

Sound understanding of food safety and WHS standards

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays
